Prof Anita Harris elected as fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia
Congratulations to Professor Anita Harris who has been named a fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia.
Prof. Harris’s research focuses on youth identities and cultures, citizenship, participation and new politics, globalisation and multiculturalism, and girls' studies. Her recent ARC Discovery project investigates how transnational mobility affects young people’s ability to not only achieve desirable qualifications and livelihoods, but to be connected and engaged in their social and civic worlds as these become more dispersed spatially and less predictable temporally.
CRIS Director Prof. Michele Grossman said, “This recognition of Prof. Harris’s outstanding research and global impact in the field of youth studies and young people’s civic participation in a changing world demonstrates the strength of CRIS research leaders in driving socially engaged research excellence.”
